Uncovering the Research Behind TB-500 Studies

For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption. All compounds referenced in this article are sold by Explicit SARMs solely as reference materials for in-vitro and animal research by qualified professionals. Nothing here is medical advice, and no statement has been evaluated by the FDA. These materials are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Searching for “TB-500 studies” mostly turns up research on a different molecule: full-length thymosin beta-4. This article explains what the literature covers and how to read it critically.

Fragment vs Full Protein

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein that regulates actin, the main structural protein of the cell cytoskeleton. Most published research concerns the full protein. Some work has looked at shorter fragments, including the actin-binding region that TB-500 is based on, but there is much less of it.

Thymosin Beta-4 Biology

Thymosin beta-4 is one of the main actin-sequestering proteins in cells. By binding actin monomers, it helps regulate how the cytoskeleton assembles and remodels. That is why it is studied in models of cell migration, wound healing and blood-vessel formation.

Reading the Literature

  • Check the molecule: does the study use full-length thymosin beta-4, a fragment, or TB-500 as sold?
  • Check the model: cell culture, animal model, or something else? Translating results between models is not straightforward.
  • Check for replication: single studies are a starting point, not a conclusion.

Regulatory Status

TB-500 is not approved by the FDA or any other regulator for any indication. TB-500 and thymosin beta-4 appear on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s prohibited list under S2 (peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics).

Research Material

Explicit SARMs supplies TB-500 5mg and TB-500 10mg strictly as laboratory reference material. A certificate of analysis is available on request through our contact page, and our products are tested by Accumark. Our guide to reading a COA explains what each section of the report should contain. For common questions, see our thymosin beta-4 and TB-500 FAQ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TB-500 for human use?

No. It is sold strictly for laboratory research, and we do not provide dosing, administration or usage guidance.
