Sermorelin is one of the most studied growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analogs, and it is often confused with the growth hormone–releasing peptides (GHRPs) sold alongside it. This overview explains what sermorelin is, where it sits among growth hormone research compounds, and what the published work covers.
Explicit SARMs supplies Sermorelin 5mg and Sermorelin 10mg strictly as laboratory reference material.
What Sermorelin Is
- Structure: a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide matching the first 29 residues of endogenous GHRH, often written as GHRH(1-29)NH2. This is the shortest fragment that keeps the full hormone’s activity.
- Target: the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotroph cells.
- Class: a GHRH analog. It is not a GHRP, not a ghrelin mimetic and not a SARM.
- Regulatory status: a pharmaceutical form was marketed in the US in the past and has since been discontinued. The material we supply is not approved for any use and is sold for research only.
GHRH Analogs vs GHRPs
Growth hormone research compounds fall into two broad groups that act on different receptors. GHRH analogs such as sermorelin and tesamorelin act on the GHRH receptor. GHRPs and ghrelin mimetics such as ipamorelin, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 act on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). Because the two pathways are distinct, studies often examine them separately and in combination. Keeping the classes apart in study notes avoids a common source of confusion.
What Research Has Examined
Published research on sermorelin has focused mainly on pituitary growth hormone release and downstream IGF-1 signaling, including its use as a probe of pituitary responsiveness. It is a short peptide that is cleared quickly, which shapes how studies are designed and sampled. As with other compounds in this group, a change in hormone levels is a measured endpoint, not proof of a functional outcome. Findings from one study population or model should not be generalized beyond it.
Sourcing and Documentation
Our products come from US domestic manufacturing with three-stage testing: two tests by our manufacturer, then an independent test by Accumark on our behalf. A lot-specific certificate of analysis is available on request through our contact page, and published results are on our lab results page. Record the lot number, COA reference and reconstitution details for every vial.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is sermorelin the same as ipamorelin?
No. Sermorelin is a GHRH analog that acts on the GHRH receptor. Ipamorelin is a GHRP that acts on the ghrelin receptor.
Is sermorelin a SARM?
No. It is a peptide and does not act on androgen receptors.
Do you provide dosing or usage guidance?
No. Sermorelin is sold strictly for laboratory research, and we do not provide dosing, administration or usage guidance. It appears on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s prohibited list.
