SLU-PP-332 and BAM-15 are both small molecules used in mitochondrial and energy-metabolism research, but they work in completely different ways. One acts on a nuclear receptor; the other acts directly on the mitochondrial membrane.

SLU-PP-332
SLU-PP-332 was developed by a Saint Louis University group as a synthetic agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERR alpha, beta and gamma). These receptors control genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis, and rodent studies have looked at how activating them changes muscle gene expression.
BAM-15
BAM-15 carries protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane, uncoupling respiration from ATP production. It was described in Molecular Metabolism in 2014 and is studied because, in cell models, it uncouples mitochondria without depolarizing the plasma membrane.
